Italian Beer in Santa Rosa — Birre at Capriciano Osteria
For Italian beer in Santa Rosa, our list pairs Italian imports from Menabrea and Baladin with California craft brewers, served at dinner from 5 PM.
Wine country may be famous for its bottles, but at Capriciano we believe a great Italian meal can also begin with a great beer. Our list pours Italian imports from Piedmont and Biella alongside the best of Bay Area craft brewing — including Sonoma County’s own HenHouse from Petaluma. Whether you are after a crisp lager to wash down a pizza or a citrusy West Coast IPA to cut through a rich pasta, we have a glass for you. What Makes Our Beer List Special?

Why Choose Our Beer List?
From Italy and Our Own Backyard
Our list pours two of Italy’s most respected breweries — Menabrea from Biella and Baladin from Piedmont — alongside the best of Northern California craft. HenHouse from Petaluma is brewed less than an hour from our door, and we are proud to pour it.
Built for Italian Food
Beer and Italian food are old friends. A crisp pilsner cuts through the richness of a wood-fired pizza; a hoppy IPA balances the spice of Calabrian chili; a malty craft ale matches a slow-braised ragù perfectly. Tell us what you are eating; we will pour the right glass.
Italian Beer in Santa Rosa, Next to California Craft
Capriciano serves beer and wine only, and the beer side of the list is short and built for Italian food. Whether you want Italian beer in Santa Rosa with a Margherita or a West Coast IPA next to the Calabrian chili in our Rigatoni Mezzi, the list covers both ends: two Italian imports, an Italian-style pilsner, and California craft beer from Petaluma, San Leandro and Livermore. Ask your server which one suits what you are eating.

Which Italian beers do you serve?
Menabrea Bionda is an Italian pilsner from Biella, floral and crisp, made with Alpine water. Baladin Nazionale is an Italian craft ale from Piedmont, malty and fruity with a hint of orange peel and coriander. From our American craft list, Sfizio Pilsner is brewed in the Italian style, with cracker-like malt, pine and eucalyptus notes and a bitter finish. All three sit comfortably next to a pizza from the firewood oven.
Do you have California craft beer?
Yes. HenHouse Best Life is a smooth, gentle blonde ale from Petaluma, here in Sonoma County, and HenHouse Avian Surveillance is a soft, juicy hazy IPA with tropical fruit and low bitterness. Drakes 1500 Pale Ale from San Leandro balances hop bitterness with citrus and stone fruit, and Altamont Maui Waui from Livermore is a West Coast IPA with bright citrus, clean pine bitterness and a crisp finish.
Is Capriciano beer and wine only?
Yes, we serve beer and wine only. Beyond the beer list you’ll find Italian, Sonoma County and Napa Valley wines by the glass and bottle, wine flights, wine-based aperitivi and Italian dessert wines. For guests who aren’t drinking, there is fresh lemonade and iced tea, A’Siciliana blood orange and lemon sodas imported from Sicily, Boylan’s sodas, Saratoga still water and San Pellegrino sparkling water.
Where can I drink Italian beer in Santa Rosa?
At Capriciano, 505 Mendocino Ave in downtown Santa Rosa, during dinner. We are open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 5 to 9:30 PM and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 PM, and we are closed on Tuesdays. Order a Menabrea with the antipasti, a Baladin with a slow-braised Lamb Shank, or ask your server what fits the plate in front of you.
That is Italian beer in Santa Rosa, the osteria way. Pair a cold pilsner with something from the firewood oven: reserve a table online or on OpenTable, and get directions to Mendocino Ave.
