Pesce & Molluschi

Italian Seafood Restaurant in Santa Rosa — Capriciano Osteria
An Italian seafood restaurant in Santa Rosa: fresh fish and shellfish from coastal Italy and the Pacific, brought to your table in the heart of wine country.

Fresh seafood in Santa Rosa runs through much of our dinner menu, from oysters on the half shell to a risotto of shrimp, clams and lobster.

At Capriciano, our pesce e molluschi course honors the seafood traditions of Italy’s long coastline — from Sicilian sea bass to coastal shellfish, from raw oysters to warm grilled octopus. As an authentic Italian restaurant in Santa Rosa, we work with the freshest catch we can source, prepare it simply, and let the ingredients speak. Whether you are after a delicate piece of petrale sole, a robust seafood risotto, or a glass of crisp white from our Italian and California list, the sea has a place at every Capriciano table.

What Makes Our Seafood Special?

The Italian Coastal Tradition
Italy is a peninsula — never more than a short drive from the sea — and seafood has shaped its cuisine for thousands of years. At our Santa Rosa osteria, we honor that tradition with both raw bar classics and slow-cooked specialties. Our oysters arrive on ice with seasonal mignonette. Our Sicilian sea bass comes with olive oil poached Yukon Gold potatoes, fennel and San Marzano tomatoes; our petrale sole is finished with lemon butter and basil oil; our risotto ai frutti di mare brings shrimp, clams, and lobster into one warm, fragrant plate. Each dish is built to highlight the fish, not hide it.

Why Choose Our Seafood?
Fresh & Carefully Sourced

We work with trusted purveyors to bring fresh seafood to our Santa Rosa kitchen — ocean catch calamari, oysters from rotating coasts, fish and shellfish chosen for quality and seasonality. Nothing complicated, nothing fussy — just the best of what is available, prepared with care.

Coastal Italian Tradition

From Sicilian sea bass to risotto ai frutti di mare, our seafood menu honors the long coastlines of Italy and the cooking that grew up around them. Every plate is sized for sharing and pairs naturally with a glass from our Italian and California wine list.

Fresh Seafood in Santa Rosa, from Oysters to Risotto

The Pesce e Molluschi section of our dinner menu is where fresh seafood in Santa Rosa meets Sicilian and coastal Italian cooking. Sicilian Sea Bass arrives with olive oil poached Yukon Gold potatoes, fennel, San Marzano and shishito. Fillet of Petrale Sole comes with a crab mix, caviar, clams and gnocchi in lemon butter sauce. Ora King Salmon comes with kale, Tuscan white beans and pomme puree, and Risotto ai Frutti di Mare brings shrimp, Manila clams and lobster together with Calabrian chili.

Do you serve oysters?

Yes. Oysters on the Half Shell open the Antipasti Freddi list: rotating coast varieties served with a seasonal mignonette, so ask your server which oysters are in that evening. Like our beef and shrimp carpaccio, they are served raw. Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness. A glass of Bisol Crede Prosecco Superiore or Feudo Montoni Grillo from Sicily is on the list to go with them.

What other seafood is on the menu?

Plenty beyond the mains. Among the antipasti you will find Grilled Octopus with tomato caper sauce, lemon and crushed potatoes; Calamari Fritti, lightly breaded and fried, with zucchini and spicy aioli; the Carpaccio di Gamberi Rosso, a shrimp carpaccio; and Focaccia & Bagna Cauda with warm anchovy butter. The pasta list has Spaghetti con Gamberi e Vongole, and the Pizza Capriciano from the firewood oven is topped with shrimp and pancetta.

Is Capriciano a seafood restaurant?

Capriciano is an Italian fine-dining osteria that opened on July 17, 2026, rather than a seafood-only house. We serve fresh seafood in Santa Rosa next to handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza and antipasti, cooked in Sicilian and coastal traditions. That makes it easy to bring a mixed table: seafood lovers can order the sea bass or the risotto while others choose Bistecca Tagliata, Lamb Shank or Red Wine-Braised Short Ribs from the Carne section.

Which wines are on the list for seafood?

For seafood, the list offers Italian whites such as Feudo Montoni Grillo from Sicily, with citrus, almond and a saline finish; Pietradolce Etna Bianco from Mount Etna, with volcanic minerality and white flowers; Prelius Vermentino from Tuscany; and Elena Walch Pinot Grigio from Alto Adige. The Sparkling Flight pours Prosecco, Schramsberg and Champagne side by side. For more ideas, our Journal has a wine pairing guide for Italian seafood.

That is fresh seafood in Santa Rosa, the osteria way. For oysters, octopus and a glass of Etna Bianco, reserve a table online or on OpenTable, and get directions to 505 Mendocino Ave.
